~VenomaShockwave took a couple pictures of a beautiful sunrise in Chicago and I decided to try to paint it. This is the first time I've ever used a photo for reference. ^^
I made an attempt to get the lighting right on this one for once. If I keep this up, I might eventually be able to paint halfway decent lighting XD Also, I tried a new painting technique for the dragon. I think if I merge this style with my old one, I might have something pretty cool. How do you guys like it? And speaking of the dragon, it seems to be pretty fail, because most of my family members couldn't tell that it was sitting on a rocky ledge with its wings folded beside it. And for more of a sense of location, the dragon is on the foothills of a mountain range, overlooking a forested landscape. The camera messed it up. It messed up the colors, too. DX Acrylics, on 12x16 in. canvas. Comments
I agree with Nuclear Jonny, It's beautiful. YOu are totally a wicked painter. I love this so much. I would buy it off ya if i had the money. I really would.

This picture is so pretty and i could totally see it hanging on a wall somewhere.
You can see a lot of work for the details, especially on the dragon scales and on the trees.
the sky effect is so close to the realistic one, for the kind of the color and for the shadow it have.
The dragon is really good made, wit correct anatomy and an amazing care for the head position and prospective.
Also i want add that the silver paint gave at the picture the perfect idea for the light reflect.
I advice everyone to browse that artist gallery for see more marvelous artworks like that.
